Help Ron afford new work gloves and boots – purchase your holiday gifts from him today

Ron is a kind, helpful gentleman in his 50s who lives in Coquitlam. Having a job is important to him because it gets him money in the bank. He's previously worked as a school janitor and cleaner for a wood company.
Today, Ron is a dedicated member of Fraserside's Mobile Work Crew, a team of skilled labourers who contract with residents and businesses in New Westminster to perform a variety of outdoor work including landscaping, rubbish removal, power washing, recycling, grounds keeping and maintenance.
The Mobile Work Crew is a good fit for Ron because he enjoys the physical, routine tasks and team work of creating welcoming environments for his clients, and because he appreciates his boss. "I can have man talks when I need to talk," says Ron about the onsite supervisor employed by Fraserside to provide crew members - all of whom have an ability challenge - with practical opportunities to enhance their work skills and abilities.
Ron's most enjoyed part of the job? "Delivering chocolates and flowers for Christmas."
Yet, around the same time of year, with the heavier rain and colder temperatures of coastal winters, the crew members experience greater wear and tear on their clothing and equipment, all of which they must provide and pay for themselves.
Ron and his fellow crew members want to look as professional and proud as they feel about their work. But their contracts only cover their wages. There is no funding to purchase new heavy-duty gloves and boots.
So this holiday season, Ron and the crew are selling chocolates and poinsettias to raise funds for new clothing and equipment.
