Fraserside offers financial assistance to low-income families who live in New Westminster through our Summer Camping Bureau to help cover registration fees for children’s summer camps. Summer camps typically range in length, from half-day, week-long sports camps to two-week, overnight wilderness camps.

As the parent or guardian, you may be eligible to pay as low as 25% of the camp registration fee.

Eligibility is based on total household income (see chart below). To determine eligibility, you will need to provide Fraserside with the following:

  • proof of New Westminster residency
  • picture identification
  • current Notice of Assessment for each adult in the household

Processing of summer camp subsidy applications is offered seasonally from May to August each year by Fraserside's Summer Camping Bureau. Applications must be made in person via appointment at Fraserside’s reception desk at 2nd Floor - 519 Seventh Street, New Westminster. Please call 604-522-3722, Ext. 120 to book an appointment.

The Summer Camping Bureau is funded by the City of New Westminster, the Government of British Columbia, summer camp organizations, and donations.

New Westminster households must meet the definition of low income to receive subsidies for services provided by Fraserside's Community Services Desk. Household income cannot exceed the following amounts:
