Jumpstart helps kids aged 4 to 18 participate in sport, dance or other organized physical activities by providing funding to families that need a financial hand with registration, equipment and/or transportation costs. Jumpstart funding is provided by the Canadian Tire Corporation.

If you are a family on low-income, you can apply for Jumpstart funding through Fraserside’s Community Services Desk. Funding is provided directly to the league, club or sport organization.

Families must meet financial need criteria in order to qualify for Jumpstart funding. Jumpstart recommends following Revenue Canada’s Low Income Cut-offs (LICOs) which are based on a family’s size, the size of their community and the total family unit income (before tax). To confirm eligibility, you will need to provide Fraserside with the following:

  • Proof of New Westminster residency
  • Picture identification
  • Current Notice of Assessment for each adult in the household

Applications can be made at Fraserside’s reception desk at 2nd Floor - 519 Seventh Street, New Westminster during the following hours:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (closed over the lunch hour noon-1 p.m.).
  • Closed on Statutory Holidays.

New Westminster households must meet the definition of low income to receive subsidies for services provided by Fraserside's Community Services Desk. Household income cannot exceed the following amounts:
